So, I’ve been fasting for the past week. Normally, I don’t tell ANYONE I’m fasting, but I figured
someone could benefit from my results thus far. I fast about 3-4 times a year, mainly to cleanse
my body. But, this time, I decided to add an additional element and do a cleanse for my mind, body,
and spirit. A complete purge of anything unhealthy in my life. So, in addition to my liquid fast and
daily meditation, I:
-cut out the gossip sites (I’m kind of addicted to a few celeb sites)
-minimized social media (normally I spend the first hour of my day on social media);
I cut out that hour
-Switched my wardrobe to all white for the week (white deflects negative
-Incorporated affirmations throughout the day (I use to do this daily)
-And switched my Pandora to spiritual music
The results? I’m not going to lie, I was tempted to grab the taco right out of the hand of a man,
when I stepped inside a local eatery for some juice. And, both Rihanna and Snoop Doggy Dog tunes
entered my mind more than a few times this week. And when I saw on FB a post about a rock star’s
daughter being pregnant, I had to resist the urge to click on the link for the full story. So, needless to
say, there were a few days I felt like a digital “crackhead.” LOL!
Overall however, I resisted, reminding myself of the results I desired, and let the temporary
temptations pass. As a result, I was able to redirect all of that energy into my unfinished projects.
As a result, I wrote copy for an entire web site, (something I had been putting off for weeks), and
got super clear on a key missing component of a new program I am releasing. I wasn’t sure how to
solve the problem, but the answer became VERY clear to me while meditating during my fast.
Overall, answers to problems I had been mulling over for weeks came very quickly. On a physical
note (by the way, this particular fast was not for weight loss so I don't know how much weight I
lost), my sleep improved and I was able to sleep through the whole night without waking up, my
blemishes cleared up (yaaaaaayh) and I felt more energized. Is there anything that needs detoxing
in your life? People? Food? Online addictions? Perhaps it’s time to come out your comfort zone and
give yourself a break with a fast.
